About Me

I am a Columbia University trained psychotherapist and have been practicing therapy for the past 16 years. My style of practice is interactive and relational. This means we will collaborate to build a relationship  through which we can work through what you need help with. I tend to be transparent and will share my thoughts with you. This will be an active therapy experience where we will use our smarts and strengths collaboratively to bring about change. I believe that we are all best understood when space is made for all that impacts us- including our gender, class, race, sexual orientation, families of origin and how all these parts of us intersects with social context, history and the world around us.

My approach to therapy is rooted in both practical experience and academic training. I have spent the past seven years as a Senior Therapist at Tribeca Therapy. Prior to that I served as a Senior Therapist and Clinical Supervisor at the FDNY.  I have worked with many individuals, couples and families facing a range of issues, most commonly anxiety, panic, depressed mood, loss and trauma. I am comfortable helping couples with premarital therapy, fertility, lifecycle transitions, infidelity and helping couples learn to increase empathy and understanding so that repetitive cycles of fighting can come to an end.

My interest in family work, inter-generational trauma, the intersections of class, race, gender and social context and history led to me to do my post graduate training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family and the Multicultural Family Institute. I enjoy working with couples and families, helping disrupt painful patterns and move into more powerful, positive ways of relating.

After many years practicing in the city I am happy to bring what I have to offer to individuals, couples and families in Westchester.
